Casino Royale: A James Bond Novel (James Bond Novels, Book 1)

Casino Royale - Ian Fleming I was surprised at how much I liked this book. It's a very nicely paced suspense story. Well, 2/3 of it is anyway. The last 1/3 is an emotional drama with some strangely dated plays by each character (such as when Bond refers to her emotional withdrawal and sexual advances as having the "titillating taste of rape").In the end it came out a lot more brooding than what I expected but it was pleasantly heavy.
